We are in Arizona. We drove to Williams this morning and watched the Netherlands-Uruguay soccer match over lunch in an Irish-Mexican restaurant called Pancho McGillicuddy's. Yes, you read that right. The son of an Irish immigrant met a woman from Sonora, Mexico when he was working the railroads. His Irish-Mexican cooking was famous among the railroad workers and eventually they opened a restaurant.
We spent the afternoon until sunset at the Grand Canyon. The grandeur and geologic history of this place make one feel like a speck in the universe. Even the smaller canyons around the Grand Canyon are spectacular. We are in the Navajo Nation now and will be here for the next few days.
